Classic tarte flambée.

Ingredients

4 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2 cups
Water½ cup + 1 tbsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp
Salt¾ tsp
Crème fraîche¾ cup
Curd (plain yogurt, natural yoghurt)⅓ cup fromage blanc or thick curd
Onion2, thinly sliced
Bacon (streaky rashers, streaky bacon)150 g lardons
Nutmega pinch
Black peppera pinch

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix the flour, water, oil and salt into a smooth dough. Rest 30 minutes.
  2. 2Heat the oven as hot as it goes with a baking tray inside.
  3. 3Roll the dough paper thin on baking paper.
  4. 4Spread with crème fraîche mixed with fromage blanc and nutmeg, then scatter onions and lardons.
  5. 5Slide onto the hot tray and bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Serve it like this
