Classic mulled cider.

Ingredients

5 servings
Hard cider (cider)1 litre hard cider
Orange1 orange, sliced
Whole spices2 cinnamon sticks, 5 cloves, 2 star anise
Sugar2 tbsp brown sugar, to taste
Ginger2 thin slices

Method

3 steps
  1. 1Put everything in a pan and warm gently.
  2. 2Keep just below a simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. 3Taste for sugar, strain and ladle into mugs.
Serve it like this

Serve hot in mugs with an orange slice and cinnamon stick. Sausage rolls, cheese or cake alongside.
