Ingredients

12 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)250 g for dough, 300 g for crumble
Instant dry yeast2 tsp
Milk⅔ cup, lukewarm
Sugar50 g dough, 180 g crumble
Butter40 g dough, 200 g crumble
Egg1
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp
Cinnamon powdera pinch, optional
Salta pinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Knead a soft dough from 250 g flour, yeast, milk, 50 g sugar, 40 g butter, egg and salt. Rise until doubled.
  2. 2Rub the remaining flour, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon with cold butter into large crumbs.
  3. 3Press the dough into a tray, cover evenly with crumble and rise 20 minutes.
  4. 4Bake at 190 C until pale golden.
Serve it like this

Cut into squares and serve on a plain plate with coffee, crumbs side up and plenty of them.
