Ingredients

8 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)4 cups
Instant dry yeast2 tsp
Sugar2 tsp
Water1¼ cups warm
Saltto taste
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp
Date syrup¼ cup pekmez or date syrup
Sesame seeds¾ cup, toasted

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Make a firm dough and let it rise until doubled.
  2. 2Divide into 8, roll each into a long rope, fold in half, twist and join the ends into a ring.
  3. 3Dip each ring in molasses thinned with water, then press into the sesame seeds.
  4. 4Rise 20 minutes, then bake at 220 C until deep golden brown.
Serve it like this

Stack on a plate or a stick. Serve with tea, feta, olives and tomato.
