Ingredients

4 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2 cups
Milk2 cups
Egg2
Salt½ tsp
Butterfor frying
Bacon (streaky rashers, streaky bacon)thin strips
Apple1, thinly sliced
Golden syrup (golden syrup or light corn syrup)Dutch stroop, to drizzle

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Whisk the flour, milk, eggs and salt into a smooth batter. Rest 15 minutes.
  2. 2Heat a large frying pan with a little butter. Lay in a few bacon strips or apple slices and cook briefly.
  3. 3Pour in enough batter to cover the base of the pan thinly.
  4. 4Cook until the top is dry, flip and cook the other side.
  5. 5Slide onto a plate and drizzle with stroop.
Serve it like this

Slide each pancake onto a large plate, drizzle with stroop and dust with icing sugar if sweet.
