Ingredients

8 servings
Milk1 litre
Jaggery250 g panela or jaggery
Cornflour (cornstarch)¾ cup
Cinnamon2 sticks
Whole spices4 cloves
Butter2 tbsp
Fresh grated coconut½ cup, optional
Raisins¼ cup
Salta pinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Simmer 750 ml milk with the panela, cinnamon and cloves until the panela dissolves. Strain.
  2. 2Whisk the cornflour into the remaining cold milk and pour into the hot milk, stirring constantly.
  3. 3Cook on low, stirring without stopping, for 15 minutes until very thick and pulling from the sides.
  4. 4Stir in butter, coconut and raisins. Pour into a mould, cool, then cut into squares and dust with cinnamon.
Serve it like this

Cut into squares, dust with cinnamon and serve with buñuelos on a festive plate.
