Buñuelos colombianos.

Ingredients

8 servings
Queso fresco2 cups, finely crumbled (queso costeño)
Cornflour (cornstarch)½ cup
Tapioca starch⅓ cup
Sugar1½ tbsp
Baking powder1 tsp
Egg1
Milk2 tbsp
Salta pinch
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for deep frying, about 7 tbsp absorbed

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Blitz or crumble the cheese very finely.
  2. 2Mix with cornflour, tapioca starch, sugar, baking powder and salt, then add the egg and milk to a soft dough.
  3. 3Roll into smooth 3 cm balls with no cracks.
  4. 4Put into oil at 150°C and slowly raise to 170°C. Fry 8 to 10 minutes until they roll over on their own and turn golden.
Serve it like this
