Classic mshikaki.

Ingredients

4 servings
Beef600 g beef sirloin, in cubes
Raw papaya (green papaya)2 tbsp green papaya, grated
Lemon juice2 tbsp
Garlic5 cloves
Gingerthumb
Curry powder2 tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1½ tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1½ tbsp
Saltto taste

Method

3 steps
  1. 1Blend garlic, ginger, papaya, lemon and spices into a paste and coat the beef. Marinate at least 2 hours.
  2. 2Thread onto skewers and brush with oil.
  3. 3Grill over hot charcoal or under a grill, turning, until charred and cooked through.
Serve it like this

Serve skewers on a platter with lemon wedges, kachumbari and chilli sauce.
