Ingredients

6 servings
Cabbage1 large head
Minced pork (pork mince, ground pork)500 g
Rice¾ cup, par boiled
Onion1 large, chopped
Butter1½ tbsp
Egg1
Saltto taste
Black pepperto taste
Dried marjoram½ tsp
Tomato puree1½ cups passata
Vegetable stock (vegetable broth)1⅔ cups
Sour creamto finish
Bay leaf (indian bay leaf)2

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Core the cabbage and blanch in boiling water, peeling off leaves as they soften. Shave the thick ribs.
  2. 2Soften onion in butter. Mix with pork, rice, egg, marjoram, salt and pepper.
  3. 3Place filling on each leaf, fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  4. 4Line a pot with spare leaves, pack in the rolls, add tomato, stock and bay. Cover and simmer or bake at 180 C.
  5. 5Stir sour cream into some sauce and pour over.
Serve it like this

Serve two rolls per plate drenched in tomato sauce, with mashed potatoes and dill.
