Method
6 steps- 1Toast the breadcrumbs in 30 g butter until golden.
- 2Toss the apples with sugar, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts and lemon juice.
- 3Lay out filo sheets on a cloth, brushing each with butter, overlapping into a large rectangle.
- 4Scatter crumbs along one long edge, pile the apples on top, fold in the sides and roll up using the cloth.
- 5Place seam down on a tray, brush with butter and bake at 190 C for 35 to 40 minutes.
- 6Cool 15 minutes, dust with icing sugar and slice.
Serve it like this
Serve warm slices dusted with icing sugar, with vanilla ice cream or custard alongside.
