Classic sel roti.

Ingredients

8 servings
Rice1½ cups, soaked 6 hours
Sugar6 tbsp
Banana1 ripe, mashed
Ghee2 tbsp
Milkabout 1/2 cup
Cardamom½ tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for deep frying (about 5 tbsp absorbed)

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Drain the rice and grind with sugar, banana and ghee, adding milk slowly, to a slightly coarse thick batter.
  2. 2Rest 30 minutes and stir in cardamom.
  3. 3Heat oil to medium. Pour batter from your hand or a bottle in a ring.
  4. 4Turn with a stick and fry until reddish golden.
Serve it like this
