Ingredients

8 servings
Peaches900 g fresh or tinned, sliced
Sugar¾ cup, divided
Lemon juice1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder1 tsp
Cornflour (cornstarch)2 tbsp
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)1½ cups
Baking powder2 tsp
Salta pinch
Butter6 tbsp, melted
Milk¾ cup
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Toss peaches with 50 g sugar, lemon, cinnamon and cornflour. Spread in a buttered dish.
  2. 2Whisk flour, remaining sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter and vanilla.
  3. 3Spoon batter over the peaches in dollops.
  4. 4Bake at 190 C for 40 to 45 minutes.
Serve it like this
