Ingredients

8 servings
Puff pastry2 sheets ready rolled
Guava paste250 g guava paste, sliced
Cream cheese½ cup
Egg1, beaten
Sugar2 tbsp, for syrup
Water2 tbsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cut each pastry sheet into 8 squares.
  2. 2Place a slice of guava paste and a spoon of cream cheese on 8 squares, brush the edges with egg and top with the other squares. Press the edges with a fork.
  3. 3Brush with egg, cut a small slit on top and bake at 200°C for 18 to 20 minutes.
  4. 4Boil the sugar and water for 1 minute and brush over the hot pastries.
Serve it like this

Serve warm on a paper doily, two per person, with small cups of strong sweet coffee.
