Ingredients

6 servings
Potato800 g, boiled and mashed
Beef300 g mince
Onion1, chopped
Garlic2 cloves
Tomato1, chopped
Kashmiri chilli powder1 tsp
Cumin powder (ground cumin)½ tsp
Raisins2 tbsp
Black oliveschopped
Egg2, 1 boiled and chopped, 1 for coating
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)¼ cup
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)absorbed, for frying
Saltto taste
Lemon juicefor salsa criolla

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Season the mashed potato with salt and knead smooth.
  2. 2Fry onion and garlic, add beef, tomato, chilli and cumin and cook until dry. Stir in raisins, olives and chopped egg.
  3. 3Flatten a portion of potato in your palm, fill and close into an oval.
  4. 4Dip in beaten egg and maida, then shallow fry until golden all over.
Serve it like this

Serve one or two per plate with salsa criolla of red onion, lime and chilli piled on top.
