Classic Osmania biscuits.

Ingredients

12 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)1½ cups
Butter½ cup, soft
Sugar⅔ cup, powdered
Custard powder2 tbsp
Milk powder (powdered milk)2 tbsp
Salt½ tsp
Baking powder½ tsp
Baking soda (bicarb soda, bicarbonate of soda)a pinch
Milk3 tbsp, plus extra to brush
Cardamoma pinch

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Cream butter, sugar and salt until fluffy.
  2. 2Add the maida, custard powder, milk powder, baking powder, soda, cardamom and milk. Bring together.
  3. 3Roll 1/3 inch thick and cut 2 inch rounds.
  4. 4Brush the tops with milk and bake at 170 C for 18 to 20 minutes.
  5. 5Cool on the tray before storing.
Serve it like this
