Ingredients

6 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)4 cups
Waterabout 1 1/4 cups, warm
Salt1 tsp
Sugar2 tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)½ cup, for coating and stacking
Butter3 tbsp, to serve
Honey¼ cup, to serve

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix flour, salt, sugar and warm water into a soft dough. Knead until smooth and divide into 20 small balls.
  2. 2Coat the balls well with oil and rest 20 minutes.
  3. 3On an oiled surface, press each ball out with oiled hands until almost translucent.
  4. 4Cook one in a hot dry pan for 30 seconds, flip, then lay the next raw sheet on top. Flip the stack and keep going, so each new pancake cooks on the bottom of the pile.
  5. 5Peel apart, spread each with butter and honey, then roll or fold.
Serve it like this

Stack on a big plate with butter and a jug of honey beside it. Everyone peels their own.
