Ingredients

12 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)4 cups, including 30 g for topping
Milk1 cup, warm
Butter60 g dough, 20 g topping
Sugar60 g dough, 30 g topping
Instant dry yeast2 tsp
Egg2
Salt1 tsp
Apricot jam (apricot preserves)about 1 cup
Cream cheese⅔ cup, optional filling

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Knead flour, milk, 60 g butter, 60 g sugar, yeast, eggs and salt into a soft dough. Rise 1 hour.
  2. 2Shape 16 balls and rise 30 minutes.
  3. 3Press a deep well into each and fill with jam or sweetened cream cheese.
  4. 4Rub topping crumbs and sprinkle. Bake at 190 C for 15 to 18 minutes.
Serve it like this

Arrange on a platter with coffee; serve slightly warm.
