Ingredients

Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2½ cups
Instant dry yeast1½ tsp
Sugar2½ tbsp
Salt½ tsp
Milk¾ cup, warm
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp
Sweet red bean paste1¼ cups sweet red bean paste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, warm milk and oil and knead 8 minutes until smooth.
  2. 2Cover and rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. 3Divide into 8, flatten, fill with red bean paste and pinch closed.
  4. 4Rest 15 minutes on squares of paper, then steam 12 minutes. Wait 3 minutes before lifting the lid.
Serve it like this

Serve warm on squares of paper, torn open to show the red bean, with a cup of barley tea.
