Dried white beans (haricot beans, navy beans)2 cups dried, soaked overnight
Smoked sausage250 g, sliced
Bacon (streaky rashers, streaky bacon)100 g, diced
Onion1 large, chopped
Garlic3 cloves
Tomato puree1½ cups passata
Dried marjoram1 tsp
Paprika1 tsp sweet
Bay leaf (indian bay leaf)2
Allspice3 berries
Saltto taste
Black pepperto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Boil soaked beans with bay and allspice until tender.
  2. 2Fry bacon, then sausage and onion until browned. Add garlic.
  3. 3Add beans, passata, marjoram and paprika. Simmer until thick.
  4. 4Season and serve with bread.
