Ingredients

6 servings
Cornflakes4 cups, plain unsweetened
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Peanuts⅓ cup
Roasted chana dal (roasted split chickpeas)¼ cup
Cashews12, halved
Raisins2 tbsp
Curry leaves2 sprigs
Green chilli2, slit
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)½ tsp
Sugar2 tsp, powdered
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Fry peanuts in oil until crunchy, then cashews, chana and raisins.
  2. 2Add curry leaves and green chillies until crisp, then turmeric off the heat.
  3. 3Tip in cornflakes and toss on low heat for 2 minutes.
  4. 4Off the heat, toss with chilli, sugar and salt. Cool fully before storing.
Serve it like this

Serve in a bowl or fill jars for Diwali visitors. Room temperature.
