Ingredients

6 servings
Filo pastry (phyllo dough)500 g sheets, or homemade stretched dough
Minced beef (beef mince, beef or buff keema)500 g
Onion3, finely chopped
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)4 tbsp
Saltto taste
Black pepper1 tsp
Waterto sprinkle
Curd (plain yogurt, natural yoghurt)yogurt, to serve

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix raw beef with onion, salt and pepper.
  2. 2Brush 2 sheets with oil, lay filling along one edge and roll into a long snake.
  3. 3Coil the snakes in an oiled round tin into a spiral.
  4. 4Brush with oil and bake at 200 C until golden. Sprinkle with hot water and rest covered.
Serve it like this

Cut wedges from the spiral and serve with a glass of yogurt or a bowl of plain curd.
