Ingredients

Minced beef (beef mince, beef or buff keema)beef mince
Macaronielbow macaroni
Onion1 large, chopped
Garlic3 cloves
Capsicum (green capsicum, green bell pepper)1, diced
Tomato1 tin chopped tomatoes
Tomato puree⅔ cup
Beef stock (beef broth)2½ cups
Paprika2 tsp
Dried oregano1 tsp
Bay leaf (indian bay leaf)2
Worcestershire sauce2 tsp
Saltto taste
Cheddar cheesegrated, to top
Olive oil2 tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Brown the beef in oil with onion and capsicum until no pink remains. Add garlic and paprika.
  2. 2Add tomatoes, puree, stock, oregano, bay and Worcestershire and simmer 15 minutes.
  3. 3Stir in the macaroni and simmer, stirring often, 10 to 12 minutes until tender. Add a splash of water if needed.
  4. 4Season and top with cheddar, covered, until melted.
Serve it like this

Ladle into bowls with melted cheese on top and buttered bread on the side.
