Classic sangria.

Per serving, worked out from the ingredient table.

Ingredients

6 servings
Red wine1 bottle (750 ml) young, fruity red
Brandy60 ml brandy
Orange juice120 ml orange juice
Orange1 orange, sliced
Apple1 apple, diced
Lemon1 lemon, sliced
Sugar2 tbsp, or to taste
Whole spices1 cinnamon stick
Soda water (club soda)250 ml soda water, to top
Ice cubesfor the jug and glasses

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Put the sliced orange, lemon, apple, sugar and cinnamon in a large jug.
  2. 2Add the brandy and orange juice and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. 3Pour in the wine, stir and chill for at least 2 hours.
  4. 4Just before serving, add ice and top with soda.
  5. 5Pour into ice filled glasses with some fruit in each.
Serve it like this

Serve from a big glass jug into ice filled wine glasses, a few pieces of fruit in each. Tapas or a grill alongside, and a jug of water.
