Ingredients

6 servings
Rice flour2 cups roasted rice flour
Fresh grated coconut¾ cup
Water2 cups, boiling
Chicken, curry cut (bone in chicken, small pieces)600 g
Onion2, sliced
Ginger garlic paste1½ tbsp
Coriander powder (ground coriander)1½ tbsp
Kashmiri chilli powder1 tbsp
Garam masala1 tsp
Black pepper1 tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Thin coconut milk1⅔ cups
Thick coconut milk⅔ cup
Coconut oil2 tbsp
Curry leaves2 sprigs
Saltto taste

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix rice flour, coconut and salt, pour in boiling water and stir to a soft dough.
  2. 2Shape into small marble sized balls and steam for 10 minutes.
  3. 3Fry onion and ginger garlic in coconut oil, add powders and chicken and cook until coated.
  4. 4Add thin coconut milk and simmer until the chicken is cooked and no pink remains, then add the dumplings and simmer 10 minutes.
  5. 5Pour in thick coconut milk and heat through without boiling.
Serve it like this

Serve in deep bowls with the dumplings and chicken together, garnished with curry leaves.
