Ingredients

3 servings
Rolled oats (porridge oats)1¼ cups, powdered
Besan (chickpea flour, gram flour)⅓ cup
Curd (plain yogurt, natural yoghurt)¼ cup
Waterabout 2/3 cup
Onion1 small, chopped
Tomato1 small, chopped
Capsicum (green capsicum, green bell pepper)¼, chopped
Green chilli1, chopped
Ginger1.5 cm, grated
Coriander leaves (cilantro)2 tbsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)a pinch
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)½ tsp
Ajwain (carom seeds)¼ tsp
Saltto taste
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for the pan

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix oats powder, besan, curd and water into a thick, pourable batter. Rest 10 minutes.
  2. 2Stir in vegetables, spices and salt.
  3. 3Spread a ladleful on a hot greased tawa, drizzle oil and cook until golden underneath.
  4. 4Flip and cook the other side, then serve with chutney.
Serve it like this

Serve straight off the tawa, folded, with chutney and sambar in small bowls on the side.
