Ingredients

6 servings
Dried salted fish1½ cups small dried anchovies (jiri myeolchi)
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1½ tbsp
Garlic3 cloves, sliced
Almondssliced or slivered
Soy sauce2 tsp
Sugar2 tsp
Honey1 tbsp
Sesame seeds2 tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Toast the anchovies in a dry pan for 2 minutes, then shake in a sieve to remove dust.
  2. 2Add the oil, garlic and almonds and toss 1 minute over medium heat.
  3. 3Push everything aside, add the soy, sugar and 1 tbsp water to the pan and bubble 20 seconds, then toss together.
  4. 4Off the heat, add the honey and sesame and toss. Spread on a plate to cool.
Serve it like this

Heap a small mound in a banchan dish with sesame on top. Serve at room temperature with rice and soup.
