Ingredients

4 servings
Broken wheat (cracked wheat)½ cup daliya
Ghee2 tsp
Water2 cups
Milk2 cups
Jaggery⅓ cup, grated
Cardamom¼ tsp
Almonds1 tbsp almond powder (no whole nuts)

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Roast the daliya in ghee on medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. 2Add the water and pressure cook for 3 whistles on medium. Let the pressure release naturally.
  3. 3Add the milk and simmer, stirring, for 5 to 6 minutes until creamy.
  4. 4Turn off the heat, wait a minute, then stir in the jaggery, cardamom and almond powder.
Serve it like this

Serve warm in bowls with a pinch of almond powder on top. Packs well in an insulated tiffin for a mid morning snack.
