Ingredients

12 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)3 cups
Sugar1 cup, divided
Egg3
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)½ cup
Almonds1 cup, chopped
Baking powder1½ tsp
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp
Cinnamon powder1½ tsp
Saltpinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Beat eggs, 170 g sugar, oil and vanilla, then fold in flour, baking powder, salt and almonds.
  2. 2Shape into two logs on a lined tray and bake at 180°C until firm and lightly golden.
  3. 3Cool 10 minutes, slice 1.5 cm thick, lay flat and dust with the remaining sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  4. 4Bake again until dry and golden at the edges.
Serve it like this
