Ingredients

4 servings
Gruyère cheese3 cups grated
Egg2
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)2 tbsp
Dry white wine2 tbsp
Garlic1 clove, crushed
Black pepperto taste
Nutmega pinch
White bread8 small rounds of bread
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)absorbed, for deep frying

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mix cheese, eggs, flour, wine, garlic, pepper and nutmeg into a thick paste.
  2. 2Heap a dome of cheese onto each bread round.
  3. 3Deep fry cheese side down at 180 C until golden.
  4. 4Drain and serve immediately.
Serve it like this
