Fish6 rohu pieces
Turmeric (ground turmeric)1 tsp
Saltto taste
Mustard oil2½ tbsp
Fenugreek seeds¼ tsp
Garlic4 cloves, crushed
Green chilli3, slit
Mustard greens1 large bunch, chopped
Water1⅔ cups

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Rub the fish with turmeric and salt and fry lightly in mustard oil. Lift out.
  2. 2In the same oil, add fenugreek seeds and garlic.
  3. 3Add the greens, green chillies and a pinch of salt and cook until wilted.
  4. 4Add water and simmer, then add the fish and cook gently until the fish is cooked through.
Serve it like this

Ladle into warm bowls and serve hot, with a few coriander leaves on top.
