Ingredients

8 servings
Rice flour1⅔ cups
Rava (semolina)3 tbsp
Fresh grated coconut⅓ cup
Dried red chilli3
Cumin seeds1 tsp
Asafoetidaa pinch
Curry leavesa few, chopped
Butter1 tbsp
Wateras needed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)for frying
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Grind coconut, chilli and cumin to a coarse paste.
  2. 2Dry roast rice flour lightly. Mix with rava, paste, asafoetida, curry leaves, butter and salt. Knead with hot water into a firm dough.
  3. 3Roll small pieces into thin ropes and join the ends into rings.
  4. 4Fry in medium hot oil till golden and the bubbling stops.
Serve it like this

Drain on paper for a minute, pile onto a plate and serve hot with chutney on the side.
