Ingredients

4 servings
Minced beef (beef mince, beef or buff keema)beef mince, 80 percent lean
Processed cheese (american cheese)6 slices American or processed cheese
Burger bun4 buns
Onion1, sliced or grilled
Dill pickles (gherkins)pickle slices
Salt1 tsp
Black pepper½ tsp
Butter1 tbsp, for the buns

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Divide beef into 8 thin patties, a little wider than the buns.
  2. 2Fold cheese slices into small squares and place in the centre of 4 patties. Top with the others and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  3. 3Season and cook in a hot pan 4 to 5 minutes a side until well browned and cooked through.
  4. 4Toast buttered buns, add the patty with onion and pickles. Rest 1 minute before biting.
Serve it like this

Serve on a plate with fries and a warning. Slice one in half to show off the molten centre.
