Ingredients

1 servings
Gin60 ml gin, kept cold
Dry vermouth10 ml dry vermouth
Green olives1 or 3 olives on a pick, or a lemon twist
Ice cubesfor chilling the glass and stirring

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Fill a coupe or martini glass with ice and water to chill it.
  2. 2Stir the gin and vermouth with plenty of ice in a mixing glass for 30 seconds.
  3. 3Tip out the ice water and strain the martini into the cold glass.
  4. 4Add the olives or twist a strip of lemon peel over the top.
Serve it like this

Serve in a chilled coupe or V glass, no ice, with olives on a pick. Small salty bites and water alongside.
