Ingredients

4 servings
Chicken, boneless600 g boneless thigh, bite sized
Gochujang3 tbsp
Gochugaru1½ tbsp
Soy sauce1½ tbsp
Sugar1 tbsp
Garlic6 cloves, minced
Ginger1 tsp, grated
Sesame oil2 tsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)1 tbsp
Cabbage¼ head, in chunks
Sweet potato1, in thick sticks
Onion1, sliced
Korean rice cakes150 g
Spring onion (green onion, scallion)3 stalks, in lengths
Sesame seeds2 tsp

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy, sugar, garlic, ginger and sesame oil. Coat the chicken and rest 30 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil in a wide pan. Spread sweet potato, cabbage and onion, then the chicken on top.
  3. 3Cook on medium, stirring now and then, until the sweet potato softens.
  4. 4Add the rice cakes and spring onion and cook until the chicken is done with no pink and rice cakes are chewy.
  5. 5Sprinkle sesame and serve from the pan. Fry leftover rice in the sauce at the end.
Serve it like this
