Ingredients

4 servings
Whole wheat flour (wholemeal atta flour, chapati flour)1⅔ cups
Cooked rice1½ cups leftover rice, mashed
Onion1 small, finely chopped
Green chilli1, chopped
Ginger1.5 cm, grated
Coriander leaves (cilantro)2 tbsp
Ajwain (carom seeds)¼ tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)½ tsp
Salt¾ tsp
Ghee2 tbsp, for cooking

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Mash the rice smooth.
  2. 2Knead flour, rice, onion, chilli, ginger, coriander, spices and salt into a soft dough, adding water only if needed.
  3. 3Rest 10 minutes, divide into 8 balls and roll.
  4. 4Cook with ghee on a hot tawa till golden.
Serve it like this
