Ingredients

4 servings
Capsicum (green capsicum, green bell pepper)4 medium
Besan (chickpea flour, gram flour)⅔ cup, dry roasted
Peanuts¼ cup, roasted and crushed
Sesame seeds1 tbsp, roasted
Goda masala2 tsp
Red chilli powder (indian red chili powder)1 tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)½ tsp
Jaggery1½ tsp
Lemon juice2 tsp
Coriander leaves (cilantro)a handful
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2½ tbsp
Mustard seeds½ tsp
Asafoetidaa pinch
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cut a lid off each capsicum or slit it lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  2. 2Mix roasted besan, peanuts, sesame, goda masala, chilli, turmeric, jaggery, lemon, coriander, salt and 1 tbsp oil.
  3. 3Stuff the capsicums firmly.
  4. 4Heat remaining oil, crackle mustard, add asafoetida and lay the capsicums in. Cover and cook on low, turning, until blistered and soft, 18 to 20 minutes.
Serve it like this

Serve hot on a plate, with a few fresh coriander leaves on top.
