Beefchuck, cubed
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tbsp
Garlic8 cloves
Onion1 large
Tomato puree1 cup tomato sauce
Water2½ cups
Bay leaf (indian bay leaf)2 leaves
Salt1 tsp
Black pepper½ tsp
Potato2, cubed
Carrot2, cubed
Liver spread (liver pâté)1 small can
Red bell pepper (red capsicum, red pepper)1, strips
Green olivesa handful
Fresh red chillies (fresh red chiles)2, chopped
Processed cheese (american cheese)grated

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Brown the beef in the oil in batches.
  2. 2Add the garlic and onion, then the tomato sauce, water, bay leaves, salt and pepper. Simmer covered 75 minutes.
  3. 3Add the potato and carrot and simmer 15 minutes.
  4. 4Mash the liver spread into the sauce, then add the bell pepper, olives, chilli and cheese. Simmer 5 minutes.
Serve it like this

Serve in a deep bowl with steamed rice, the olives and peppers on top, and a cold drink alongside.
