Ingredients

8 servings
Ubepurple yam, boiled and finely grated
Condensed milk (sweetened condensed milk)⅔ cup
Evaporated milk¾ cup
Thick coconut milk¾ cup
Butter4 tbsp
Sugar2 tbsp
Salta pinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Boil the ube until tender, about 30 minutes. Peel and grate or mash very finely.
  2. 2Melt the butter in a wide nonstick pan, add the ube, milks, coconut milk, sugar and salt.
  3. 3Cook on low, stirring constantly, for 40 minutes until thick and pulling away from the pan.
  4. 4Press into greased moulds and cool to set.
Serve it like this

Unmould onto a plate and top with latik or toasted coconut. Serve small slices, or spoon into halo halo.
