Ingredients

10 servings
Sesame seeds1⅓ cups, white
Jaggery1 cup, grated
Ghee1 tbsp, plus for greasing
Cardamom¼ tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Roast sesame on low heat until golden. Cool and lightly crush half of it.
  2. 2Melt jaggery with ghee and cook to the hard crack stage.
  3. 3Stir in sesame and cardamom, tip onto a greased surface and roll very thin with a greased pin.
  4. 4Score into squares while warm and break once cool.
Serve it like this

Break into shards, stack on a plate or in a paper box and serve with tea on a cold afternoon.
