Ingredients

4 servings
Short grain rice (sushi rice)2 rice cooker cups
Rice vinegar4 tbsp
Sugar2 tbsp
Salt1 tsp
Nori sheets8 sheets, halved
Salmon200 g sashimi grade, in strips, kept cold
Tuna in oil (tinned tuna)1 can, drained
Mayonnaise2 tbsp
Cucumber1, in sticks
Avocado1, sliced
Egg2, as a thin omelette, in strips
Soy sauceto dip
Pickled gingerto serve
Sesame seeds1 tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cook the rice, then fold in the vinegar, sugar and salt while fanning until glossy. Keep covered with a damp cloth.
  2. 2Mix the tuna with mayonnaise. Arrange all fillings on a platter.
  3. 3To roll: hold half a nori sheet shiny side down, spread a little rice on the left third, add fillings diagonally.
  4. 4Fold the bottom corner up over the filling and roll into a cone. Eat at once with soy.
Serve it like this

Lay out rice, nori, and fillings on a big platter in the middle of the table with soy and ginger, and let everyone roll their own.
