Ingredients

2 servings
Egg4
Whole wheat bread (wholemeal bread)4 slices
Butter1½ tbsp
Tomato1, halved and seared
Salta pinch
Black peppera pinch

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Sear the tomato halves cut side down in half the butter in a frying pan until charred, then set aside.
  2. 2Lower the heat, add the rest of the butter and crack in the eggs.
  3. 3Cover the pan for 2 to 3 minutes so steam sets the top of the whites.
  4. 4Toast the bread, slide the eggs on top and season with salt and pepper.
Serve it like this

Lay the toast on a warm plate, eggs on top, seared tomato alongside. Coffee or chai and ketchup for those who must.
