Ingredients

12 servings
Ragi flour (finger millet flour)1 cup
Whole wheat flour (wholemeal atta flour, chapati flour)½ cup
Jaggery½ cup, powdered
Ghee6 tbsp, soft
Milk2 tbsp
Baking powder¾ tsp
Cardamom½ tsp
Salta pinch
Almonds2 tbsp, chopped

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Lightly roast the ragi flour in a dry pan on low for 4 minutes. Cool.
  2. 2Beat the ghee and jaggery until creamy.
  3. 3Add both flours, baking powder, cardamom, salt and milk. Bring into a soft dough.
  4. 4Shape into small discs, press a bit of almond on each and place on a lined tray.
  5. 5Bake at 170 C for 14 to 16 minutes. Cool on the tray.
Serve it like this

Serve in a small tin or plate with milk or chai; great in a child’s tiffin box.
