Ingredients

10 servings
Maida (all-purpose flour, plain flour)3½ cups
Instant dry yeast2 tsp
Milk1 cup, warm
Butter60 g for dough, 110 g melted
Sugar50 g for dough, 100 g to roll
Brown sugar¾ cup
Egg1
Salt1 tsp
Cinnamon powder1 tbsp
Vanilla essence (vanilla flavouring, imitation vanilla extract)1 tsp

Method

5 steps
  1. 1Mix flour, yeast, 50 g sugar, salt, warm milk, egg and 60 g soft butter into a soft dough. Knead 8 minutes and rise 1 hour.
  2. 2Pinch into 2.5 cm balls. Dip each in melted butter, then roll in sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  3. 3Layer in a greased bundt or ring pan. Stir brown sugar into the remaining butter and pour over. Rise 30 minutes.
  4. 4Bake at 180°C for 30 to 35 minutes until deep golden.
  5. 5Rest 5 minutes, then turn out onto a plate.
Serve it like this

Turn out onto a big plate while warm and set in the middle of the table for pulling. Coffee and fruit alongside.
