Ingredients

4 servings
Jowar flour (sorghum flour)1 cup sorghum meal
Water3¼ cups
Salta pinch
Butter1 tbsp
Milk1 cup, warm, to serve
Sugar4 tsp, to serve

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Whisk the sorghum meal into 250 ml of the water, cold, to make a smooth paste.
  2. 2Bring the rest of the water and the salt to a boil, then whisk in the paste.
  3. 3Lower the heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
  4. 4Stir in the butter and serve with warm milk and sugar.
Serve it like this

Spoon into bowls, pour warm milk around the edge and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
