Ingredients

Prawns (shrimp)500 g
Onion2, sliced
Tomato1, chopped
Ginger garlic paste1½ tbsp
Kashmiri chilli powder1 tbsp
Coriander powder (ground coriander)1 tsp
Black pepper1 tsp
Fennel seeds½ tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Kudampuli1 piece
Coconut oil2 tbsp
Curry leaves2 sprigs
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Marinate prawns with turmeric, half the chilli and salt.
  2. 2Fry onion in coconut oil until brown, add ginger garlic and tomato.
  3. 3Add powders and kudampuli with a splash of water; cook until thick.
  4. 4Add prawns, roast until coated and just cooked; finish with pepper and curry leaves.
Serve it like this

Serve in a small bowl with curry leaves, alongside rice, porotta or appam.
