Ingredients

6 servings
Rice¾ cup broken rice
Moong dal (split yellow mung beans)¼ cup
Minced mutton (goat mince, ground goat)150 g keema
Onion1, sliced
Tomato1, chopped
Ginger garlic paste2 tsp
Green chilli1, slit
Mint leavesa handful
Coriander leaves (cilantro)1 tbsp
Whole spicescinnamon, cloves, cardamom
Carrot1 small, chopped
Thin coconut milk1½ cups
Ghee1 tbsp
Cooking oil (vegetable oil)2 tsp
Turmeric (ground turmeric)¼ tsp
Salt1¼ tsp
Water6 cups

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Heat ghee and oil in the cooker, fry whole spices and onion, then ginger garlic paste, chilli, tomato and mint.
  2. 2Add keema and cook till no pink remains. Add rice, dal, carrot, turmeric, salt and water.
  3. 3Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally.
  4. 4Stir in coconut milk and simmer gently 3 minutes. Finish with coriander.
Serve it like this

Ladle into warm bowls and serve hot, with a few coriander leaves on top.
