Winter sweets

Tang yuan are glutinous rice balls served in a warm soup, eaten in China for the Lantern Festival and the winter solstice. Nolen gur is date palm jaggery prized in Bengal in winter, and dudh puli is a Bengali sweet of rice dumplings in milk.

Both mark the cold months.
