Ingredients

Pumpkin1½ cups
Raw banana (green plantain)1
Elephant foot yam100 g
Radish (daikon radish, mooli)1 small
Brinjal (eggplant, aubergine)2 small
Sweet potato1 small
Colocasia (taro root, eddoes)100 g
Fresh grated coconut½ cup
Ginger2.5 cm, grated
Cumin powder (ground cumin)1 tsp, roasted
Black pepper½ tsp
Jaggery1 tbsp
Ghee1½ tbsp
Water1⅔ cups
Saltto taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Cut vegetables into chunks; boil in water with salt until tender.
  2. 2Add ginger, pepper and jaggery; simmer.
  3. 3Add coconut and roasted cumin; cook until thick.
  4. 4Finish with ghee.
Serve it like this

Serve warm in a clay bowl with rice, dalma and khatta.
