Ingredients

2 servings
Tea leaves (black tea leaves)2 tbsp strong black tea, a Ceylon blend
Water400 ml
Evaporated milk80 ml
Sugar1 tbsp, or to taste

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Boil the water, add the tea and simmer for 3 minutes.
  2. 2Pour through a fine cloth strainer into another pot, then back through again 3 or 4 times.
  3. 3Warm the evaporated milk in cups and pour the hot tea over it.
  4. 4Sweeten to taste.
Serve it like this

Serve hot in a thick white diner cup on a saucer, with buttered toast or a pineapple bun.
