Classic dhaniya panjiri.

Ingredients

8 servings
Coriander powder (ground coriander)¾ cup, fresh
Ghee2 tbsp
Makhana (fox nuts)1½ cups
Almonds¼ cup, chopped
Desiccated coconut (unsweetened shredded coconut)⅓ cup
Melon seeds (melon seeds, peeled)1½ tbsp
Sugar⅓ cup, powdered
Cardamom¼ tsp

Method

4 steps
  1. 1Roast makhana in a little ghee until crisp, then crush coarsely.
  2. 2Roast coriander powder in the remaining ghee on low heat until fragrant.
  3. 3Add coconut, almonds and melon seeds and roast 1 minute more.
  4. 4Cool, then mix in sugar, cardamom and makhana.
Serve it like this

Serve a spoonful in a small leaf bowl or steel katori with a tulsi leaf on top.
